02/02/2025 – Taking some time and venturing to my local sportsman club, I took that time and tested my recipes listed above. I did only test H series arrows (1-6) because I desire to up front have 100 grains in my arrows. Below is my research after shooting.
Symptoms
- 200gn tips – I sighted in my bow for 20 yards with this setup and was hitting accurately. There was no noticeable abnormalities in arrow flight. I am using this as a baseline.
- 225gn tips – no abnormalities in arrow flight.
- 225 Plus 15gn Sleeve tips – no noticeable abnormalities in arrow flight, but I did have one arrow (2 test arrows) have a nock high upon impact.
- 250gn tips – Appears to have some noticeable arrow whipping. Are arrow vanes hitting my rest? Arrow impact was hitting nock right.
- 275gn tips – Same issue as 250gn.
- 300gn tips – these are very heavy and are symptomatic of 275gn arrows. However, after thinking while testing, I fear that it will be very difficult to find or even bolster my arrows with an extra 200gn in tips before any broadhead is attached. More over, maintainability. I do not want to get lost in weight insertion systems and consistently have to maintain them.
Potential Route causes
- Investigate if vanes are contacting drop away rest and there is ample clearance between vanes and parts of bow.
- Bareshaft tune arrows.
- There is no reason at 56# draw weight why arrows are too stiff and showing nock right.
Addendum
Remember:
- Nock high indicates
- Incorrect arrow spine
- Arrow release issues
- Arrow contacting bow
- Nock point too high
- Grip issues
- Nock Right indicates
- Arrow is too stiff
- Cam Lean

- Fletching issues
- Nock Left indicates
- Arrow is too weak.
